The encapsulation job consists of powder filling capsules with correct product and acceptable weights using Bosch and Type8 encapsulation machines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills to input data into the database.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a current food handler’ permit.
  • English Proficiency required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and converse and listen.
  • The employee must exert up to 90 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates machinery with ability to make adjustments or minor repairs.
  • Inspects capsules produced to ensure that capsules are being filled according to specifications.
  • Records information, such as batch code, time, barrels used and capsule box number.
  • Investigates if product yield is not met to give a reasonable justification.
  • Must contribute to department team incentive goals. Team incentive goals and rewards are based on productivity, in both quantity and quality of work and the accuracy to which the job and/or processes are completed.
  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
