About The Position

The Emulation Team at Qualcomm is part of the central SoC digital hardware organization responsible for the overall development and support of SoC pre-silicon platforms. This team collaborates closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customers to ensure the successful implementation and functionality of emulation platforms. The role of an Emulation Engineer involves working with various emulation platforms such as FPGA Prototyping, Veloce, and Palladium. Candidates will be expected to utilize emulation tools for synthesis, place and route, constraints, and clocking. A significant part of the job will also include system debugging, which encompasses waveform generation and content debug support. The engineer will be responsible for understanding and validating SoC functionality, including CPU/DSP cores, multimedia, IO, peripherals, DDR, modem, and bus protocols. Candidates should have a strong background in emulation and silicon environments, with experience in pre-silicon prototyping and debugging low-level software and hardware issues. Familiarity with debug tools such as JTAG and kernel debuggers, as well as a solid understanding of CPU and SoC architectures, is essential. The position requires proficiency in programming languages such as C, Verilog/SystemVerilog, and scripting languages like Python and TCL. Additionally, expertise in FPGA technologies, particularly Xilinx and Intel, is highly desirable.
