The Basic EMT has the responsibility and accountability for assuring the delivery of quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and following the standards of care as established by Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division, and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).

  • Deliver quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages.
  • Use proper techniques in accordance with established standards of care.
  • Follow guidelines set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division.
  • Work under the direction of the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Meets Indiana State EMT-Basic guidelines.
  • Hold a valid state EMT-Basic certification.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Must meet insurability requirements under Parkview Health vehicle and liability insurance policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds and assist with 300 pounds.
