About The Position

The EMT position is responsible for responding to both emergency and non-emergency requests, providing immediate assessment, treatment, and transportation of non-critically ill or injured patients in various settings. The role emphasizes efficient patient care, adherence to medical protocols, and effective communication with patients and their families.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to meet insurability requirements.
• Current state of MN EMT certification.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Valid MN driver's license that meets insurability requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic life support as needed in compliance with state, local, and RMC procedures.
• Establish positive rapport with each patient and their family, ensuring gentle and attentive transport.
• Respond to emergencies by selecting appropriate routes, observing traffic conditions, and maintaining communication with dispatchers.
• Complete reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure the operation of equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting necessary repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
