About The Position

Position Overview: EMTs provide rapid response and care to all basic first aid and EMS needs that arise at the Park. EMTs are responsible for assessing, prioritizing, initiating care, and documenting each incident as they arise. They also communicate with Park management regarding incidents that require notification to the state or company's workers compensation provider.

• Technical Skills Be cognoscete of surroundings and able to respond immediately to emergency situations by applying first aid knowledge.
• Communication Greet each and every guest in a warm and inviting manor; complete all supporting documentation in a clear and concise fashion; and able to read and interpret information quickly.
• Planning/ Organizing Keep assigned work area clean and orderly at all times; fill downtime with appropriate tasks; and work in an efficient manor.
• Quality Control Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work; look for ways to improve and promote quality; and able to monitor own work for quality assurance.
• Dependability Follows instructions and responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; complete task on time or notifies supervisor with an alternate plan and timeline; consistently on time for scheduled shift; and ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid EMT License
• Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk/pace; use hands to handle equipment or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; required to lift up to 100 pounds; and apply first aid techniques including CPR.
• Work Environment - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to and confined spaces and elevated work areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the first aid trailer so that it is well organized and fully stocked.
• Check first aid bag at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure all necessary equipment is readily available.
• Respond to calls for medical attention in the park.
• Calmly and confidently, take control of area and offer reassurance to the patient and surrounding bystanders.
• Perform a patient assessment, determine the extent of injury or illness, and initiate first aid treatment.
• Contact local ambulance crew for evacuation if additional medical treatment is needed.
• Document each incident and report cases involving any ride/attraction to the Operations Manager or cases involving any employee to the HR Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
