About The Position

EMT We are seeking a caring and friendly EMT at John Knox Village, a leading healthcare and life plan community located in Pompano Beach. In this role, the selected candidate will respond to emergency calls from Residents, Employees and Visitors in a efficient and professional manner. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possess and maintain a State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and note taking skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and more than one task at a time.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and patrol for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and push at least 50 pounds, and have the stamina, endurance, and flexibility to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Able to effectively communicate via two-way radios.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to be helpful, courteous and attentive.

Responsibilities

  • Rapid response to emergency calls from a dispatcher such as requests for medical assistance following emergency response proceedings.
  • Assess emergency medical situation and perform physical examinations as needed.
  • Administer first aid treatment and other emergency care to sick or injured persons and assist with facilitating the transport to medical facilities
  • Determine whether ER visit is needed.
  • Provide emergency medical care and other treatment pursuant to EMT certification.
  • Utilize necessary medical equipment to treat and ascertain the extent of injury or illness.
  • Complete incident reports documenting any medical response calls on campus.
