Renders emergency medical care to sick, disabled or injured individual(s) based on signs, symptoms or complaints. Communicates via two-way radio with dispatch Assists in the transporting of a patient(s) with patients movement devices. Drivers a licensed ambulance from the scene to a medical facility. Completes run information form documenting the care provided to the patient. Inspects the ambulance before and after calls for compliance with safety regulations Participates in cleaning, restocking and disinfecting after each call. Performs other duties as requested or required by EMS management. Assures that each run sheet is completely filled out with all the required information. Assures that the battery on each AED and portable suction unit is charged Notifies a supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies Have all medical release forms signed when applicable Insures all policies and procedures are followed on each response Assesses the need for additional services and makes the appropriate requests Make decisions regarding patient care, hospital destination and use of services Ability to read a map, knowledge of State, County and other public roadways. Ability to perform duties in stressful and sometimes life-threatening situations Ability to express understanding and compassion to patients and others in a crisis situation Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and public. Knowledge of NJAC Statue 8:40 Knowledge of other standards, rules, regulations, and policies related to EMS.
