About The Position

The EMT at LGTC Group Eating Disorder Residential plays a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to our adolescent clients going through eating disorder treatment in our 24/7 facility. This position is essential for ensuring that all patients receive timely medical attention and support, contributing to their overall well-being and recovery. The EMT will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and monitor patient progress. Additionally, this role involves educating patients and their families about health management and treatment options. Ultimately, the LVN will help create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes healing and comfort for all clients.

Requirements

  • Valid CA EMT certification
  • Current CPR/BLS/First-Aid certification
  • Ability to work a weekend day
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current EMT certification (state-specific and/or NREMT).
  • Valid CPR certification (AHA or equivalent).
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry patients and equipment (minimum 100 lbs with assistance).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a residential treatment center or similar healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of mental health nursing practices.
  • Knowledge or experience with eating disorders
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish or other languages.
  • 1+ year of EMS or field experience.
  • Familiarity with local geographic area and healthcare facilities.
  • Bilingual (optional, depending on service area).

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and health status.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Aid the milieu counselors on the floor and assist with bathroom observations and cleaning tasks
