About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) position involves providing timely and efficient pre-hospital basic life support care and transportation for the sick and injured. The EMT is responsible for conducting patient assessments, administering basic life support, ensuring safe transport to medical facilities, and maintaining equipment and documentation in accordance with local, state, and national standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic.
• Current CPR certification as established by the American Heart Association.
• Current and valid state-issued driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate professionally and effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in emergency medical services or related field.
• Knowledge of company protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct careful examinations of patients for signs and symptoms of illness/injury.
• Administer prompt and efficient basic life support care within the limits of licensure or certification.
• Provide safe and efficient transport of patients in the ambulance to medical facilities.
• Document all aspects of patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports.
• Conduct regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment is present and in working order.
• Operate and drive the ambulance in a safe and efficient manner, following company driving guidelines.
• Attend all mandatory meetings as scheduled.
• Complete assigned station and station grounds duties.
• Order supplies and equipment to replenish station and ambulance inventories as needed.
• Complete all required company reports and logs.
