About The Position
The EMT Trainee position at Hartford HealthCare is designed for individuals looking to start a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This role involves participating in the Community Emergency Responder Academy (CERA), where trainees will undergo a comprehensive 7-week training program that includes classroom instruction, practical laboratory work, and hands-on ambulance ride time. The program is offered at no cost to the trainees, who will earn a training wage throughout the course. Upon successful completion, trainees will be eligible to take the National Registry examination and obtain Connecticut EMT certification, allowing them to work as full-time EMTs with American Ambulance Service, Inc.
