If you’re an EMT who enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork, and thrives in remote environments, Toolik Field Station is looking for you. As a Seasonal EMT, you’ll be the on-site medical lead—providing both emergency and routine care, supporting safety across the station, and helping staff and researchers feel confident and prepared in a rugged Arctic setting. You’ll work closely with station leadership and a consulting medical director, stay on call while on shift, lead safety trainings, and pitch in where needed to keep station operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone with strong judgment, clear communication skills, a calm and friendly presence, and a willingness to wear a few different hats in a close-knit field community. You’ll do well in this role if you’re a confident EMT who can keep a cool head when things get busy and stay thoughtful and steady during quieter moments, too. You enjoy working with people, communicate clearly, and don’t mind being the go-to person for medical and safety questions in a remote setting. You’re comfortable being on call, flexible with your time, and willing to pitch in wherever help is needed—whether that’s leading a safety briefing, checking supplies, or lending a hand with day-to-day station tasks. Most importantly, you bring a positive attitude, good judgment, and a team-first mindset that helps everyone feel supported and safe.
