About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) position at AmeriPro Health involves providing patient care in both emergency and non-emergency situations. The role requires compliance with state EMS regulations and maintaining ambulance equipment. EMTs are expected to respond to service calls, provide medical treatment, and ensure the cleanliness and readiness of the ambulance and equipment. This position is PRN (as needed), allowing for flexible scheduling while contributing to the community's health and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
• State specific Emergency Medical Technician certification / licensure in good standing.
• Current CPR: BLS certification.
• Valid state specific Driver's license.
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
• Strong people skills and proven ability to collaborate within a team.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working as an EMT or in a similar medical role.
• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training.
• FEMA ICS certifications (ICS:100; ICS:200; ICS:700; ICS:800).

Responsibilities

• Respond to all calls for service dispatched from the AmeriPro EMS communications center as directed.
• Provide care and treatment to patients according to company policy and medical director protocols.
• Ensure ambulance and all equipment is cleaned and checked daily, reporting any deficiencies immediately.
• Prepare and complete appropriate reports including Patient Care Reports (PCR), billing, and incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with AmeriPro EMS policies, procedures, and standards.
• Maintain a state of readiness and professionalism while on-duty.
• Demonstrate the ability to safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients in and out of ambulances.
