About The Position

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, is looking for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our Emergency Services team. The EMT will provide emergency patient care on a Basic Life Support (BLS) level to those in need, aiming to decrease the loss of life and ease pain and suffering during times of crisis. This position is part-time with a rotating shift schedule, and is PRN (as needed) based on department needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a PA approved EMT Training Program.
• Current CPR (BCLS) training.
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Certification (EVOC).
• Emergency Medical Service Vehicle Operators Certification (EMSVO).
• Current PA EMT certification.
• No suspension of certification as outlined in the Pennsylvania EMS Act.
• Copy of Child Abuse History Clearance from the PA Department of Human Services.
• Pennsylvania State Police criminal background clearance.
• FBI criminal background clearance and fingerprinting.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• No convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs within the last four years.
• No convictions for reckless driving or license suspension due to alcohol or moving traffic violations within the last four years.
• Not precluded from practicing for an EMS agency at the EMS provider’s certification level in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency patient care on a Basic Life Support (BLS) level.
• Responds to emergency situations to decrease loss of life and alleviate pain and suffering.
