At Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, we’re looking for a dedicated EMT Paramedic to join our incredible team. As an EMT Paramedic, you’ll be at the frontlines of emergency medical services, delivering critical care to patients in emergency situations. Whether you're responding to medical emergencies, assisting in trauma care, or transporting patients to our facility, your expertise will help save lives and guide patients toward recovery.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an approved EMT-Paramedic program
  • Current EMT-P license from Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) -OR- Licensed paramedic
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate, within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Advanced Life Support (ALS) or a Critical Care setting is preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Responsibilities

  • Patient Transport & Safety: Ensure safe patient handling and transport, maintain ambulance cleanliness and readiness, and operate the vehicle responsibly and in compliance with all laws and policies when assigned as the driver.
  • Emergency Care & Patient Assessment: Deliver advanced emergency care by continuously assessing patient status, administering medications safely according to protocols, and adjusting treatment plans to stabilize and support patients during both on-scene and transport situations
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with medical teams to ensure smooth patient care transitions and provide compassionate emotional support and clear communication to patients and families throughout transport.
  • Equipment & Documentation: Maintain medical equipment to ensure it is clean, functional, and ready for use each shift, while accurately documenting all patient care, assessments, treatments, and medication administration in compliance with hospital and legal standards.
  • Safety & Incident Management: Proactively prevent incidents by adhering to protocols, properly using equipment, promptly reporting unsafe conditions or events, and completing all required documentation.
