The position involves evaluating donor eligibility for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations, ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards. Responsibilities include conducting medical history reviews, maintaining accurate logs, and managing donor interactions. The role also requires training as a Donor Center Technician I and mentoring other medical professionals. The position demands adherence to SOPs and the ability to manage emergency situations effectively.

  • Determines donor eligibility of new and return donors for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations.
  • Conducts evaluations to ensure criteria of plasma donors are met in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
  • Reviews informed consent forms for plasmapheresis and immunization.
  • Performs medical history reviews and health assessments for donors.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date Physician Communication Logs.
  • Uses SOPs to facilitate compliance with regulations.
  • Reviews donor management system and/or immunization paperwork for accuracy.
  • Monitors donor reactions to plasmapheresis and documents accordingly.
  • Provides appropriate medical care to donors if complications arise.
  • Counsels donors with abnormal test results or eligibility concerns.
  • Trains as a Donor Center Technician I and mentors Medical Professionals.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.
  • Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program (e.g., Physician, Nurse).
  • Must work within the scope of the professional license/certification as defined by the state.
  • One (1) year experience in the hospital, field care, or plasma center preferred.
  • Must maintain current and valid license and pass medical credential evaluation.
  • Must maintain current CPR certification.
  • Must possess effective physical and clinical assessment skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow SOPs and protocols.
  • Must possess basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Experience in managing emergency situations in accordance with standard medical care practices.
