About The Position

Instructs students from diverse backgrounds and/or cultures in a comprehensive range of emergency medical education classes. Focuses on Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedicine, or both, depending on certification level. Utilizes multiple teaching methods, assessment results, and suitable instructional technologies to engage students in learning, improve teaching, and promote student success. The instructor may teach in traditional, accelerated, hybrid, and online courses. Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity, and diversity in all job performance aspects and duties.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs a diverse population of students in a classroom, lab, clinical, and field internship setting, as well as online, hybrid, accelerated, and other alternative schedules and formats
  • Employs student-centered strategies to engage students and promote success
  • Demonstrates innovation in teaching and the scholarship of learning by focusing on student learning, retention, and achievement; incorporates instructional technology and alternative delivery or scheduling techniques, among others
  • Develops written syllabi, course outlines, and materials
  • Assesses and evaluates students' knowledge of the subject matter taught and monitors academic records
  • Prepares and grades examinations and other assessments
  • Uses assessment and evaluation results to improve instruction and student learning, among other responsibilities
