About The Position

EMT Flight Paramedic Responsible for delivery of quality care for critically ill or injured in the air medical or ground transportation environment without supervision. Highly skilled in airway management, the most important skill in managing the pediatric specialty population, as this is the most prevalent type of pediatric patient moved, and the highest number of our requested transports. Responsible for the implementation, coordination, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures found in Covenant Health System policy and procedure manuals. Maintains a responsible attitude toward appropriate and efficient management of medical operations within the scope of services of the Specialty Transport Program. Flight Paramedic must be able to interact with physicians and alternative healthcare facilities. The Flight Paramedic must be highly motivated and able to care for patients using assessment skills and written standards when physician contact is not possible. This role is an onsite position and will report onsite daily as scheduled. This role requires for you to be located within a commutable distance of our office location listed below: Texas: Lubbock Flexible and available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled, based on departmental needs and operational requirements. Flexible and available to work on a variable shift which may include days, evenings, or nights shifts. Requirements

• Successful completion and maintenance of Department of State Health Services or National Registry approved Paramedic training program/certification/license.
• Texas Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic License - Texas Office of EMS-Trauma Systems -OR- Texas Paramedic License - Texas Office of EMS-Trauma Systems
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association
• National Provider PALS - American Heart Association
• Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 10 or more years of recent experience as EMT-P with an active 911 service of flight service.
• Flexible and available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled, based on departmental needs and operational requirements.
• Flexible and available to work on a variable shift which may include days, evenings, or nights shifts.
• This role is an onsite position and will report onsite daily as scheduled.

Nice To Haves

• NREMT-P, NRP, or ENPC
• BTLS or PHTLS provider certification
• Certification as a Critical Care Paramedic or Flight Paramedic
• 3 or more years of experience in flight medicine
• Trainer of Instructor experience (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP).
