About The Position

We are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), also referred to as an Emergency Response Technician or First Responder in our emergency room. An EMT is essential in providing immediate medical care and support. They conduct initial patient assessments, perform basic life support procedures like CPR, and monitor vital signs to stabilize patients upon arrival. EMTs also manage wound care, assist in patient transportation within the hospital, and work closely with ER staff to ensure coordinated care. Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

Responsibilities

Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician.
Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice
Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.
