Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles preferred.
  • High School Diploma equivalency required with 2 years of cumulative experience preferred. OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles preferred.
  • High School Diploma equivalency required with 2 years of cumulative experience preferred with 2 years of cumulative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support treatment, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport.
  • Arrive to the scene of an emergency, determine the situation, and develop a plan of action.
  • Use appropriate medical equipment and comprehend the severity of the injury.
  • Monitor patient condition and perform data collection. Communicate findings and patient condition to primary Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Assist with the mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients.
