Organization: LifeFlight Wilson Ground Job Summary: The EMT provides appropriate, efficient, and timely interfacility transport and providing the necessary basic life support care of the sick and injured neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in accordance with hospital policies, local, state, and national standards of practice. Department Summary: LifeFlight Ground EMS started with a single ambulance in the fall of 2011, and after several expansions now includes a fleet pf 21 Advance Life Support (ALS) equipped ground ambulances operating from five locations in the Middle Tennessee areas: Nashville, Wilson County (Lebanon), Coffee County (Tullahoma), Montgomery County (Clarksville) and, Bedford County (adjacent to Vanderbilt Bedford). These ambulances predominantly focus on interfacility transfers and discharges from Vanderbilt affiliated medical facilities, with the ability to also support non- Vanderbilt facilities. Shifts: Variable (12) hour shifts to include some night, weekend and holidays. 7a-7p and 7p-7a . Allied health is among the fastest growing occupations in healthcare today. Requirements

  • LIC-Emergency Medical Technicians Basic - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Less than 1 year Experience Level
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Operates Vanderbilt Licensed ambulances while responding to emergent and non-emergent transports.
  • Administers prompt and efficient basic life support care within the limits of licensure or certification.
  • Conducts regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment is present, clean, and in proper working order.
  • Communicate/collaborates effectively to meet patient and team needs
  • Performs and documents safe, efficient, and accurate transport dispatch information.
  • Assists with patient care and transfers to designated patient care areas within scope of practice.
