About The Position

It's our company's privilege to provide both non-emergent and emergency medical services (EMS) to the community of Oneonta, New York and Delaware County. Our Oneonta operation has always been proud of having a reputation for outstanding care, being stewards of the community we help serve, and developing solutions that propel prehospital emergency medicine forward. We're hiring an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) that will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients, determines necessary care, and delivers emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques, equipment and EMT scope of practice.
• Documents patient details, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Takes pride providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
• Uses appropriate EMT skills, such as bleeding control, oxygen administration and shock management.
• Operates an ambulance according to applicable company safety policies, and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.
• Works collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel, as well as fellow prehospital providers.
• Establishes and maintains strong community relations through community programs.
