About the position
The Patient Care Technician (EMT-B) at ConvenientMD plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care by performing various clinical tasks under the direction of healthcare providers. This position focuses on patient triage, assisting in examinations and procedures, and ensuring effective communication with patients. The EMT-B is integral to the clinical team, contributing to a collaborative environment aimed at improving healthcare experiences in New England.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient triage including vital signs, medical history, and observational examination.
- Assist with patient exams, testing, and procedures under provider direction.
- Utilize sterile techniques in wound care management and dressing application.
- Manage airways through suctioning, oxygen administration, and ventilation.
- Conduct cardiac management including 12 Lead ECG application and CPR.
- Administer medications as per EMT scope of practice.
- Handle patient callbacks, answering questions and reporting test results.
- Participate in training and precepting of team members.
Requirements
- Nationally Certified EMT
- Licensed EMT
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification (Preferred; American Red Cross BLS Certification Accepted)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Ability to work weekends
