About The Position

Monroe Ambulance is looking to add passionate individuals who want to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to our network of first responders. Through our established EMT Academy Course, we will provide you with the training and skills necessary to succeed within this career path. We are looking for those who are seeking to shape a new culture of EMS within our region. Serving the Rochester area since 1975, Monroe Ambulance is a family owned and operated team focusing on giving EMT's an enhanced onboarding and training experience. Coupled with our range of potential call types (rural, urban, transfer, 911, fire etc.), our diverse response area makes this team one of the best to learn with.

Requirements

• Must attend all classes, be on time, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm (excluding major holidays) - 8-week course.
• Must maintain an average of 70% or above throughout the course.
• Must pass NYS EMT-B practical and written exam.
• Must possess a valid NYS driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured.
• Transport patients to a medical facility, as well as interfacility transfers.
• Observe traffic ordinances and regulations concerning emergency vehicle operation.
