To excel as a Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Southwest Health System, Inc. in Cortez, Colorado, candidates must possess a robust set of skills and certifications. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Regulatory/Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Emergency Medical Technician Certification within state of Colorado. Current BLS certification. Must obtain certifications in IS-100.b or IS-100.HCb (Introduction to the Incident Command System) IS-200.b or IS-200.HCa (Applying Incident Command System (ICS) to Healthcare Organizations) IS-700.a (National Incident Management System) IS-800.b (National Response Framework an Introduction). EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) within six months of employment. PHTLS (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support) and EPC (Emergency Pediatric Care) certification is preferred but not required. Haz-Mat Awareness is preferred but not required. Valid motor vehicle operator's license with continued clear driving record required. Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Strong communication skills.
