About The Position

Following accepted procedures responds to calls, giving care to victims and transporting them as indicated. Responds to Emergency calls, observing traffic safety rules en-route to the scene. Appraises the situation & administers Emergency care as indicated. Communicates vital signs & pertinent information to Hospital Emergency Room via radio. Carries out instructions perform extrication and preparation of patient as indicated. Shall execute prompt and efficient care of patient before and during their transport to the hospital. Remain with patient until other professional staff is able to assume care of patient. Complete required forms, reports, ect. Perform all duties and special assignments ordered by the EMS Director, Assistant Director, or Crew Chief. Clean and restock vehicles, assuring that it is prepared for the next run. Chart ALL medication given. Complies with all rules and regulations for paramedic on the ambulance or in the Emergency Room. The Paramedic maintains adequate documentation to promote quality patient care and decreased liability. Administer treatment according to established standards of care and makes decisions that reflect sound judgement within scope of a paramedic.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Must have current Paramedic License issued by the Georgia Department of Human Resources
  • Current BCLS and ACLS
  • Defensive Driving Course (mandatory requirement)
  • Must work with preceptor and pass preceptors evaluation prior to being placed on a shift.

Nice To Haves

  • PTLS and PLS are preferred but not required
  • Previous experience preferred but not required.
