About The Position

American Medical Response - Rochester is offering a unique opportunity for individuals interested in a rewarding career in pre-hospital medicine. What is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)? The primary focus of the EMT is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation, and functions as part of a comprehensive EMS response under medical oversight. An EMT performs interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance and is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Have all required immunizations.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment screening which includes motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing, and a physical agility test.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients.
• Perform interventions with basic equipment typically found on an ambulance.
• Function as part of a comprehensive EMS response under medical oversight.
