Assists the Director in supervising daily operations of the Emergency Medical Services Department, ensuring prompt response to 911 calls and the provision of quality medical treatment and transportation. Supervises Paramedics and EMTs on assigned shift; ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and protocols. Monitors and ensures the provision of adequate supplies and equipment. Completes required records. Performs approved skills as an EMS provider. Coordinates and dispatches nonemergency transports. Works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
