The Program Coordinator acts as a liaison between the health system/market/hospital and area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. This role serves as an advocate of the hospital with private, local, regional, and state EMS agencies. Additionally, the position is responsible for ensuring collaboration across all care settings within the facility as it relates to EMS and public safety relations. The Program Coordinator is directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department under the direction of the physician. This includes communicating directly with the medical team and physician regarding changes in the patient’s clinical condition and responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
