About The Position

Griffith Foods is hiring an EMS Engineer responsible for implementing Environmental Management Systems (EMS) under the ISO14001 standard in both Alsip and Lithonia manufacturing sites. The EMS Engineer will support environmental management in ensuring compliance with local regulations, the site’s environmental policy, and global requirements. This role includes coordinating the site's legal review to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and implementing the required Action Plan. The engineer will also implement the site's ISO 14001 certification process, consolidate, track, and report on environmental metrics and incidents using the tools and platforms provided by the Global Team, and lead efforts to improve environmental metrics. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • A degree in Environmental Engineering is preferred, but chemical or industrial engineering is also applicable.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all departments and all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the ISO 14001 Standard is a plus.
  • Participation in environmental audits under ISO 14001 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local environmental regulations is desired.
  • Experience working in the Food and Beverage industry.
  • Prior EMS experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental management in ensuring compliance with local regulations, the site’s environmental policy, and global requirements.
