The EMS/EDAP Coordinator at Gottlieb Emergency Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with EMS standards and regulations, serving as a liaison between Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and the Loyola EMS System. This role includes tracking EMS volumes, providing education to staff, and overseeing quality improvement projects related to emergency medical services and pediatric care.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and Loyola EMS System.
  • Ensure compliance with EMS rules, standards, and regulations.
  • Act as an educator for the Loyola EMS system per Associate Hospital participation guidelines.
  • Track EMS volumes, transfer volumes, and EMTALA compliance, reporting to quality committees.
  • Provide education to Emergency Department staff related to EMS/ECRN/Pediatric throughout the year.
  • Track EMS expenditures, supplies, and the EMS Radio system.
  • Hold regular meetings for EDAP and report findings to the Emergency Department Quality Committee.
  • Track the quality of EMS care delivered to GMH from prehospital sources.
  • Schedule and arrange EMS students' clinical experiences in the Emergency Department.
  • Act as the Pediatric Quality Liaison for GMH, ensuring compliance with EDAP standards.
  • Provide oversight of incoming staff during orientation in conjunction with the department manager.
  • Provide clinical support in the emergency department as needed.
  • Provide education to ED staff/Providers when EMS/EDAP standards are not met.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 5 years of work experience in Emergency, Trauma or Critical Care required.
  • Knowledge of EMS systems and experience working with EMS providers preferred.
  • Strong communication, assessment & management skills.
  • Basic/intermediate computer skills with emphasis on MS Word & Excel.
  • Financial Data interpretation, Statistical Analysis, Project Planning skills preferred.
