About The Position

The position is for Employment & Training Support Professional 2 – Flex located in Ronkonkoma, NY. The role involves providing orientation, training, and supervision of workers with disabilities, working alongside individuals with disabilities in a worksite or community-based employer. The Support Professional 2 implements employment plans designed to maximize worker progress and assures job is performed to specifications.

Requirements

• High School/GED or Hi-SET plus 1 year related experience and/or training.
• One year of human service experience desired.
• Knowledge of and respect for diverse populations.
• Experience working with OPWDD Day Habilitation and employment programs preferred.
• Ability to use computers including Microsoft Word, data entry, email, and internet.
• Valid driver’s license, 3 years driving experience, good driving record.
• Willingness to transport program members in personal and/or agency vehicle.
• Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide orientation, training, and supervision of workers with disabilities.
• Work alongside individuals with disabilities in a worksite or community-based employer.
• Implement employment plans designed to maximize worker progress.
• Ensure job is performed to specifications.
