If you’re looking for a career you’ll love, keep reading! As a Part-Time Employment Trainer, you will help facilitate participants in the learning of new job duties at their work sites. This position is best suited for someone who values making a difference in the lives of others, as well as their community. Patience and good communication skills are very important in this role as well.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Drivers license preferred
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of issues that affect people with disabilities
  • Experience using software packages including Microsoft Office
  • Access to non-public transportation including required insurance coverage
  • Ability to work split shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with participants at their work site
  • Help participants learn work skills such as punctuality, appropriate dress, and following directions to their individual employment goals.
  • Provide on-the-job support by helping them adjust to a new worksite, guiding them in learning and understanding their job duties, supplementing their work as necessary, and systematically fading direct support.
  • Occasionally provide transportation for participants to work, while also encouraging them to learn about other forms of transportation, and pedestrian safety skills, and assist with wheelchairs.
