About The Position

The Employment Support Specialist within the PROS program at Goodwill Industries of Greater New York provides essential rehabilitation and vocational support to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. This role focuses on delivering person-centered, recovery-oriented services, including vocational assessments, job search assistance, and job coaching, while adhering to NYS OMH regulations and Medicaid requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Prefer 2 years of vocational experience with a SPMI/MICA population.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent computer literacy skills.
• Understanding of Evidence Based Practices and experience with IPS, Person Centered Planning, and/or working with individuals with Mental Illness.
• Bilingual/bicultural is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of up to 20 participants.
• Administer complete assessments, bi-weekly meetings, progress notes, and individualized treatment plans.
• Administer vocational assessments for participants with employment goals.
• Develop individualized vocational plans with participants, providing individual counseling and facilitating vocational groups as needed.
• Assist program participants with soft-skills development to support job retention and prepare for basic job expectations such as handling stress/anxiety.
• Assist program participants with resume creation and interview skills development.
• Provide referrals to appropriate outside vocational/educational services such as ACCES-VR.
• Provide assistance with job development and job search.
• Provide job coaching as needed to assist with job retention.
• Participate in team meetings to ensure coordination of vocational and other services.
• Facilitate 6-8 groups a week.
• Other duties as assigned.
