About The Position

The Employment Support Professional is responsible for supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving meaningful employment through person-centered, community-based services. This role focuses on helping individuals build employment skills, explore career interests, and move toward competitive, integrated employment. Services are tailored to each individual’s goals, strengths, and support needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Therap.
  • Valid driver’s license and Social Security number
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to pass required background and reference checks

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in learning and developing employment-related skills
  • Complete the Discovery Process to identify individual strengths, interests, skills, and ideal work environments
  • Implement individualized employment modules based on person-centered goals
  • Facilitate community exploration, soft skills training, and vocational awareness activities
  • Provide hands-on training and coaching to promote independence and job readiness
  • Offer ongoing feedback to support skill development and employment success
  • Document training programs, progress notes, attendance, and observations using Therap
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of medical, behavioral, and incident-related information
  • Communicate relevant updates through Therap logs (T-Logs, SComms, To-Do lists) by end of shift
  • Complete all required documentation according to agency and departmental guidelines
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and respectful interactions with individuals supported, families, coworkers, and community partners
  • Communicate concerns promptly and appropriately to supervisors
  • Follow all Charles Lea Center policies, procedures, and code of conduct
  • Attend required meetings and trainings to maintain job knowledge and compliance
  • Adhere to dress code and safety requirements
  • Use approved timekeeping systems accurately and on time
  • Provide support in enclave work sites and community employment settings as assigned
  • Assist with transportation and worksite supervision when needed
  • Be flexible with temporary reassignment to different locations or programs due to staffing needs, weather, or program changes
  • Support individuals with daily living skills as needed, including self-help, dining, grooming, and advocacy
