An Employment Specialist works directly with NH Vocational Rehabilitation, Medicaid clients and students to provide comprehensive, person-centered support, assisting them to enter or re-enter the workforce. This includes helping clients identify career goals, assessing skills and interests, developing personalized employment plans and supporting them onsite once they have been placed or at work-based learning experiences. The Employment Specialist empowers clients to achieve meaningful, sustainable employment outcomes and career exploration. Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach are essential in ensuring success. In addition, the Employment Specialist also serves as a forward-facing professional to employers and community partners. The candidate must be comfortable engaging with high-level business leaders as a peer and consultant and must have the confidence to cold call businesses to create and develop new relationships. This role requires professional bearing, strategic networking, and collaboration with employers in every type of industry. Conducting employer outreach, identifying job opportunities, facilitating placements, and supporting client employment retention are ways in which the Employment Specialist interacts with business partners.
