About The Position

The Employment Specialist role within Employment Services focuses on assisting youth and adults with disabilities in securing and maintaining competitive employment in integrated settings. The position aims to facilitate sustained, paid employment that aligns with the individual's personal and career aspirations, providing services such as career discovery, job placement, and coaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field, or an Associate's degree in Human Services with 2 years of experience or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience working with the IDD population or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player and achieve employment outcomes.
• Excellent computer, interpersonal, and engagement skills.
• Good organizational skills.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment.
• Conduct job preparation, job search, and development activities.
• Provide self-advocacy, benefits counseling, and work readiness support.
• Offer individualized follow-up support to help maintain employment.
• Negotiate job accommodations and collaborate with team members to achieve employment outcomes.
• Prepare and submit documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
