About The Position

The Employment Specialist at Third Street Alliance is responsible for creating partnerships with employers and assisting unemployed individuals in building their skills to pursue living wage job opportunities. This role focuses on individualized coaching, skill development, and collaboration with community partners to enhance the employability of clients, particularly those from at-risk populations.

Requirements

  • Five years of working experience with at-risk populations.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work well with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in workforce development (3 years preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 20 to 25 individuals at a time.
  • Provide individualized coaching to understand clients' unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations.
  • Encourage goal setting and guide participants in creating actionable plans to achieve their objectives.
  • Implement coaching strategies that promote self-confidence, self-advocacy, and empowerment.
  • Develop personalized coaching plans to help individuals overcome obstacles and enhance resilience.
  • Coach clients on personal effectiveness and essential employability skills.
  • Support clients in their training, education, and job readiness activities.
  • Connect clients to resources that assist in navigating challenges related to poverty and trauma.
  • Coach individuals in various settings including worksites, offices, virtually, and within the community.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with workforce development organizations and local employers.
  • Identify skill gaps and collaborate with community partners to create targeted training plans.
  • Track and assess clients' progress, adjusting coaching strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and outcomes.
