About The Position

The HR Employment Specialist internship is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the Human Resources field. This internship will focus on fulfilling temporary hiring goals at the Sun Prairie, WI Distribution Center, where the intern will engage in various HR functions including interviewing, hiring, and orienting new employees. The role is integral to supporting the company's staffing needs and enhancing the overall employee experience.

Requirements

• Strong, consistent, and empathetic communication skills
• Knowledge of Human Resource functions
• Working toward a Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Business Administration/Management, Human Resources, or a related field
• Junior or Senior standing; recent graduates may be considered
• Cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher
• Effective presentation skills
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred (bilingual interns are eligible for a $500 bonus at the completion of their internship)

Responsibilities

• Interviewing candidates for temporary positions
• Hiring and orienting new employees
• Performing reference and background checks on applicants as needed
• Processing necessary paperwork related to hiring
• Conducting temporary employee surveys
• Assisting with updating and entering drug screening information into the computer system
• Assisting the Human Resource Manager with special projects and tasks as assigned
