About The Position

The Employment Specialist III at Lutheran Services Florida plays a crucial role in supporting clients, particularly refugees and immigrants, by developing individual employment plans and ensuring successful job placements. The position focuses on achieving a minimum of 240 full-time, permanent placements annually, with specific retention goals for placements. This role involves outreach, recruitment, job development, and acting as a team leader to guide other Employment Specialists.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience delivering employment services to refugees and immigrants in a social service environment.
• Leadership skills and computer knowledge.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Miami's metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and recruitment to fill vacancies in the program.
• Assess participants' needs for supportive services.
• Act as team leader, motivating and guiding Employment Specialists I and II.
• Provide job development and placement services to meet monthly placement standards.
• Develop job opportunities with private and public sector employers.
• Orient participants on work benefits and protections.
• Represent the agency at worksites and resolve job performance differences.
• Document participant files and provide weekly placement information.
• Visit employers and present program information.
• Register Job Ready participants in EFM and enter service activities as required.
