About The Position

As an Employment Services & Community Direct Support Professional, you will empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through personalized 1:1 support that promotes independence, strengthens daily living and social skills, and supports success in meaningful employment. By providing coaching, encouragement, and hands-on guidance, you will help individuals build confidence, develop skills, and actively engage in their communities and workplaces.

Requirements

  • 6 months to 2 years of job coaching or related experience
  • Previous Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Direct Care Worker experience
  • Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism
  • Valid driver’s license with at least 6 months of driving experience
  • Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
  • 18 years of age
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • ACRE or CESP certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation and support during appointments, work, and community outings to promote full participation
  • Support individuals in building independence, self-confidence, and strong decision-making skills through everyday choices
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized plans based on each person’s preferences, needs, strengths, and goals
  • Teach and support daily living skills, including personal care, hygiene, cooking, and light housekeeping
  • Build trusting relationships through effective communication and support social and community connections
  • Support individuals in exploring employment interests and accessing community and work opportunities
  • Assist with job applications, interview preparation, and development of job readiness skills
  • Provide on-site job coaching, training, and ongoing support to help individuals succeed in the workplace
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to support successful job placements and long-term employment
  • Communicate with individuals, families, and employers to promote stability and success on the job
  • Monitor progress and provide ongoing guidance, feedback, and support as needed
