About The Position

Roku, Inc. is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented legal paralegal/legal specialist to support its global Employment Legal and Employee Relations teams. The ideal candidate will work closely with Roku's Employment Legal and Employee Relations functions, as well as cross-functional teams managing a wide variety of projects and processes which impact Roku employees across the globe. This position is based in Roku's San Jose office.

Requirements

  • At least two years' experience as an administrative professional, legal assistant, or paralegal
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (required); a certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program is viewed positively (but not required)
  • Strong Microsoft skills including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle complex and sensitive matters with a high degree of judgment, discretion, integrity, and professionalism
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, using effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects for multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-department, cross-functional role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Confluence, Copilot, Glean, Ironclad, or Navex/Ethicspoint
  • A collaborative, responsive, and problem-solving approach, with the willingness and ability to proactively suggest process improvements
  • A willingness and interest in learning and applying new skills and technologies; a continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and general support to Roku's Employment Legal and Employee Relations teams
  • Draft, review, and revise checklists, process documents, guidelines, handbooks, position statements, communications, and other documents
  • Assist with preparing responses to personnel file requests, subpoenas, and other document requests
  • Track and manage team projects and initiatives
  • Listen actively, identify action items and open questions, and proactively take appropriate follow-up steps to move projects forward
  • Manage correspondence with various internal and external partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including People Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, People Business Partners, Finance, Stock Administration, Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Growth, and others
  • Collect, retain, and organize the Employment Legal and Employee Relations teams' documents and information
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
