ServiceSource is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide Supported Employment (SE), Work Adjustment Job Coaching (WAJC), Community Based Assessment, and Long-Term Vocational Supports (LTVS) to individuals with disabilities. This role involves working closely with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to facilitate successful job placements in the community and on AbilityOne sites. The Employment Specialist will manage a caseload of up to 20 individuals, ensuring they receive the necessary support and training to achieve their employment goals.

  • Manage an active caseload of up to 20 individuals, completing milestones for intake, job development/placement, training goals, stabilization, and closure.
  • Provide Job Coaching/Systematic Intensive training to individuals during their first three days on the job and conduct ongoing visits to the job site.
  • Conduct quarterly surveys with employees, employers, and families to gather feedback on services and supports provided.
  • Inform employers about available tax credits for hiring individuals with disabilities and assist them in completing necessary paperwork.
  • Upload milestone documentation into VR BEAM Billing System and SETWORKS for review by Employment Development Specialist and/or Rehabilitation Director.
  • Meet weekly with Employment Development Specialist to develop schedules and review caseload activities.
  • Conduct task and job-site analyses to ensure appropriate job matches for individuals.
  • Provide consultation, guidance, and disability awareness training to employers and business representatives as needed.
  • Coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings related to individual Employment Support Plans and prepare annual support plans.
  • Attend all grant-related trainings and meetings, including those for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
  • Collaborate with case managers and youth transition specialists to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Regularly meet with key team members to ensure alignment and progress toward grant objectives.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance knowledge of systems supporting TANF recipients and disconnected youth, fostering collaboration through community meetings and professional networks.
  • Travel to multiple locations throughout the state or affiliate coverage area as needed, sometimes with little notice.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • One year of experience working in employment with individuals with disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Valid North Carolina driver license and/or access to reliable transportation for work-related travel required.
  • Experience in job coaching or vocational rehabilitation services.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support systems for individuals with disabilities.
