About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Interview, counsels, and evaluated consumers to determine individual work readiness needs Collects, analyzes, and interprets medical, psychological, educations, social and employment information regarding each client Provides pre-employment skills training and preparation for consumers both individually and in class settings. Provides direct client services including case management on and off the job site including advocacy, referrals, benefits planning, group counseling, skills training, ADL’s, transportation, and coordination of services. Participates in staff and team meetings Markets to employers in developing employment opportunities and places clients, including post-employment follow up. Completes all required documentation Able to work autonomously Educates staff about educational and vocational resources in the community. Oversees referrals and conducts intakes

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with 4 + years’ experience in human services, OR Associates degree with 1– 3 years’ experience in human services, OR B.S. degree with 0 years’ experience.
  • A valid NYS drivers license required.
  • Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
  • Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.

Nice To Haves

  • Liberal Arts degree in human service-related field preferred.
  • Employment Counseling experience is highly desirable.
