About The Position

We are looking for a persuasive, personable Employer Sales & Support Representative to be the first voice many employers, individuals, and employer referrals hear when they call or contact Hometown about our services. You will convert inbound leads into closed accounts/employer contracts, process requests, handle warm transfers from our outbound team, and proactively reach out to existing employers to offer upgrades and renewals. This role is part sales, part customer success, and fully relationship driven. The best person for this job loves being on the phone, never feels awkward about asking for the close, and finds genuine satisfaction in helping a small business owner manage the health of their employees.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of inbound sales, inside sales, or customer-facing enrollment experience
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales conversion or targets
  • Excellent phone presence: warm, professional, and confident — unhurried and consultative
  • Ability to explain complex products simply to non-expert small business owners and individuals
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Strong written communication for email and chat — professional and clear

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in sales, telecom, insurance, or employee benefits enrollment
  • Background at Verizon Business, AT&T, Spectrum, AFLAC, Colonial Life, or a health insurance agency
  • Familiarity with healthcare benefits, medical terminology, or health insurance concepts
  • Experience handling objections and executing a consultative close — not just order-taking

Responsibilities

  • Answer all inbound membership inquiries by phone, email, and chat — target response time under 2 hours for email, immediate for calls
  • Convert inbound employer, individual, and broker-referred leads into closed accounts in a single consultative conversation when possible
  • Process online inquiries and convert them into closed accounts, set up billing, send welcome materials.
  • Accept and close warm transfers from the outbound virtual sales team
  • Log all activity and interactions in CRM daily
  • Achieve monthly enrollment targets
  • Communicate employer benefits clearly and confidently
  • Partner with the billing team to resolve billing or account issues that surface during sales conversations
