The Employer Service Representative at Proteus Inc. is responsible for providing comprehensive services in employer recruitment, job search assistance, and vocational exploration. This role involves developing on-the-job training contracts, counseling participants, and creating Individual Employment Plans to empower job seekers in the Central San Joaquin Valley.

  • Initiates and maintains personal contact with employers, job services, and community agencies interested in on-the-job training opportunities.
  • Researches new and existing businesses, analyzing the local job market to develop job opportunities.
  • Provides job search assistance, including application and resume writing, interviewing skills, and job availability through classes or customer-specific sessions.
  • Meets all quotas mandated by funding and program requirements.
  • Conducts employer follow-ups at 30, 60, and 90 days for unsubsidized employment.
  • Develops job openings and provides input into the Individual Employment Plan (IEP).
  • Participates in individual case management staffing as needed.
  • Negotiates and develops on-the-job training contracts with employers and training sites for participants.
  • Provides counseling to clients, including motivational and personal counseling that may interfere with job search activities.
  • Develops Work Experience and Limited Internships training sites.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or four years of directly related experience and/or training.
  • Moderate computer skills for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or organizations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Experience in employer recruitment and job placement services.
  • Familiarity with community resources and job training programs.
