About ACI The Andromeda Community Initiative (ACI) is a nonprofit organization that provides free education, certification, and hands-on workforce training to prepare individuals for successful careers in the construction industry. Our mission is to close the skills gap and help underrepresented New Yorkers access stable, well-paying jobs in construction, green construction and buildings operations/maintenance. Position Overview We are seeking an Employer Engagement & Job Placement Specialist (Job Developer) to connect ACI graduates with hiring employers across New York’s construction and energy sectors. This role bridges the gap between our job-ready graduates and contractors seeking dependable talent. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven professional who thrives at building employer partnerships, understanding workforce needs, and helping individuals transition successfully into meaningful careers.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to engage employers and match candidates effectively to open roles.
  • Experience in business development, employer engagement, workforce development and/or business to business sales (construction industry strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of DOB and OSHA certification processes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to follow-through.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with energy efficiency and green construction standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers in the construction, energy efficiency, and buildings operations/maintenance arena.
  • Meet regularly with ACI students to assess job readiness and match them with the right employment opportunities.
  • Conduct employer outreach through calls, events, and site visits to expand ACI’s network of hiring partners.
  • Coordinate job fairs and recruitment events to connect employers with skilled program graduates.
  • Support participants through resume reviews/modifications, interview coaching, and mock interviews.
  • Enter case notes and track placement metrics in a timely manner to document client progress and organization progress and drive ongoing quality management.
  • Collaborate with social service and training teams to ensure ongoing support for jobseekers post-placement.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to insure organization-wide placement goals, presently at 80-85% of graduates.
