About The Position

The Employee Services Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting employees and managers within the Human Resources department at Community Coffee Company. This position focuses on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution, ensuring a harmonious workplace while adhering to labor laws and company policies. The specialist serves as a primary contact for employee inquiries and is responsible for managing various HR processes, including terminations and disciplinary actions, while also leading special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • Three years of experience in coordinating employee relations activities and providing consultation to management.
  • Proficient in the administration of HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • SHRM certification preferred or the ability to obtain SHRM-CP/PHR certification within the first year.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to employee relations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill experience requirements at the discretion of the hiring manager.
  • Prior experience with HRIS systems, preferably Dayforce.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries, providing beneficial resolutions and fostering harmonious relationships.
  • Coach, counsel, and guide managers on performance issues, corrective actions, and termination decisions.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive cases to higher management or HR leadership when necessary.
  • Facilitate voluntary and involuntary termination processes, including logistics and conducting exit interviews.
  • Adhere to labor relation laws by monitoring the implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions.
  • Maintain and process all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely manner.
  • Manage and track all employee disciplinary actions and maintain documentation as required by governing agencies.
  • Monitor company-specific reports and ensure proper documentation is issued for employee violations.
  • Lead special projects as assigned and perform additional duties as necessary.
