About The Position

The Employee Relations Partner provides expert consultation and case management for non-union employee relations matters across Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley. This role supports leaders in addressing performance, conduct, and workplace concerns while ensuring compliance with policies, employment laws, and organizational values. The Partner plays a key role in fostering a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university Required
  • 7+ years to 10 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on employee relations Required
  • Experience conducting investigations and advising leaders on performance and conduct issues Required
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and case management systems.
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Healthcare or public sector experience is strongly Preferred
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations Case Management Lead investigations into employee complaints, performance issues, and policy violations. Document findings, recommend outcomes, and ensure timely resolution of cases. Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Manager Coaching & Support Advise leaders on performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution. Provide guidance on policy interpretation and application in day-to-day operations. Partner with HR partners to ensure consistency and fairness in employee treatment.
  • Policy & Compliance Ensure adherence to employment laws and internal policies. Identify trends and recommend proactive strategies to mitigate risk and improve workplace culture. Collaborate with HR Policy & Compliance and Legal teams on complex or high-risk matters.
  • Training & Engagement Support development and delivery of training in employee relations best practices. Promote a culture of accountability, equity, and psychological safety. Support leader on boarding by collaborating with a HR Policy & Compliance Partner to integrating labor and employee relations content into orientation and training programs.
  • Labor Relations Collaboration Provide backup support for Labor Relations matters as needed Coordinate with Labor Relations Partner to ensure alignment across union and non-union environments as appropriate.
