As a Manager of Employee Relations, you will partner with management and employees to prevent, resolve, and/or mediate employment issues. You will respond to critical incidents and participate in emergency response as assigned. This role is responsible for educating supervisors and employees in areas of employment law and company policy, partnering with employee representation groups, and participating in SEC meetings. You will coordinate and conduct review boards, partner with in-house counsel and management regarding litigated employment cases, and answer discrimination complaints at the state and federal level. Additionally, you will represent the company in state and federal mediations, settlement conferences, and fact-finding meetings. You will facilitate responses to unemployment claims, including appeals and hearings, respond to employee grievances, and conduct internal investigations as needed. The position requires the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and utilize resources within the People Department to resolve complaints and mitigate risk. Coordination with other departments on internal investigations may also be necessary. Frequent travel, sometimes with little notice, is required. Other HR functions may be assigned as needed.
