About The Position

The Employee Relations Business Partner (ERBP) serves as the primary HR contact for employee relations matters across Neighborhood Healthcare Reporting to the - HR Manager, Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition this role plays a key part in providing guidance to leaders and employees on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and performance management. The ERBP leads employee relations investigations, ensures consistent application of policies, and helps leaders navigate complex employee situations. This role also identifies trends in workplace issues and partners with HR and business leaders to develop training, policies, and strategies that support a positive workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years of human resources experience with at least 2 years as an HR Generalist
  • Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, OneNote, Power Point & Outlook) skills required
  • Detail oriented with excellent customer service skills required
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize to meet daily, weekly or program deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently, lead others and participate as a team member
  • Must be able to travel to main NHC site as well as other sites for benefit related issues as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
  • Ability to lift/carry 10 lbs/weight
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Follows all safety procedures as outlined in Neighborhood Healthcare’s Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any injuries and/or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintains current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices
  • Follows all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Uses appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environment
  • Familiarity with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exits

Nice To Haves

  • HR Certification, PHR or equivalent experience/education preferred
  • HRIS experience with UKG preferred

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought partner to assigned Sites and Departments leaders, focusing on strengthening employee relations, coaching, performance management, and fostering a culture of continuous growth and development.
  • Help navigate employee relations scenarios with managers, providing solutions and brainstorming.
  • Lead all employee relations investigations for assigned locations, collaborating with HR Manager, ER & TA and other ER Members as needed.
  • Provide clear findings and recommendations to leadership and HR Leadership.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and records of investigations and employee relations matters.
  • Counsel and assist in resolving employee relations issues including, but not limited to, manager/employee situations, policies, procedures, terminations, and reorganizations?
  • Identify trends in ER issues in order to develop trainings and processes to improve, and identify trends related to organizational health.
  • Investigate inquiries from employees and/or managers, ensuring timely completion and communication to relevant parties.
  • Provide expertise on employee relations, employee handbook, Code of Conduct, and Leaves of Absence.
  • Collaborate with Leaders on workforce development through training, coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Contribute to creating and implementing standards for recording employee relations issues and investigations.
  • Serve as an instructor for HR101, HR201 and other HR .
  • Maintain awareness of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Collaborate with leadership to execute, implement, and manage employee relations issues consistent with Neighborhood’s policies.
  • Identify policy gaps and propose new policies or improvements based on organizational needs or emerging trends.
  • Partner with Employee Experience Team to analyze trends in employee experience and pulse surveys.
  • Create and maintain effective communication with assigned groups.
  • Role model Neighborhood’s culture, values, and behaviors.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of policies and procedures that are aligned with Neighborhood’s culture, values and strategic plans.
  • Own employee exit survey process to ensure data is being collected from employees who are voluntarily leaving Neighborhood.
  • Responsible for working with managers to complete performance appraisals on time and assist with direct and truthful feedback with employees.
  • Track and maintain updates that are required for policies or the Employee Handbook as you become aware of new laws and regulations or instances where the policy does not fit the situations occurring at Neighborhood.
  • Develop policies and procedures for instances where policies or procedures do not exist and would be useful.
  • Assist managers with communicating personnel changes, promotions, and other critical information via employee memos when working with managers.
  • Address pay discrepancies and partner with the compensation team to address.
